Nicolette Hart and Kate Rockwell Headed for Legally Blonde

Rent alum Nicolette Hart and You're the One That I Want finalist Kate Rockwell will join the cast of the Broadway musical Legally Blonde in May. The show celebrated its one-year anniversary at the Palace Theatre on April 29.

Hart will take over the role of Brooke Wyndham created by Nikki Snelson beginning May 7, with Kate Rockwell replacing Haven Burton as Margot starting May 14. The two actresses join a cast featuring Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods, Christian Borle as Emmett, Orfeh as Paulette, Richard H. Blake as Warner, Kate Shindle as Vivienne and Michael Rupert as Professor Callahan.

Hart's Broadway credits include Rent and The Wedding Singer. National tour credits include Will Rogers Follies, The Civil War and Stand By Your Man. The actress also performed as one of Bette Midler's Harlettes, touring the U.S. and Australia with the "Kiss My Brass" tour.

Rockwell, who placed fifth in the Grease reality casting series and was known as "Serious Sandy," will be making her Broadway debut. Regional credits include High School Musical at North Shore Music Theatre and Phantom of the Opera at Westchester Broadway Theater.

The Legally Blonde cast also includes Tracy Jai Edwards, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Natalie Joy Johnson, Nathan Balser, April Berry, Paul Canaan, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Beth Curry, Amber Efe, Tiffany Engen, Stephanie Fittro, Gaelen Gilliland, Jason Gillman, Becky Gulsvig, Rod Harrelson, Manuel Herrera, Andy Karl, Nick Kenkel, Michelle Kittrell, Rusty Mowery, Kevin Pariseau, Matthew Risch, Bryce Ryness, Dani Spieler and Casey Leigh Thompson.
